“Last Call”

 

They came in at two AM. Tifa tolerated them because they tipped well and Rude was sweet to her. Tonight Rufus had come along. Strangely, he was dressed in the Turk uniform rather than his pristine white suit. He and Reno sat at a corner table. They talked softly, leaneing into each other with devouring gazes, and it was clear that they were together even if they weren’t broadcasting it. Tifa wished it could be that way between Cloud and herself.

 

“Hm?” Rude had asked her a question.

 

“Doin’ anything this weekend?”

 

Tifa smiled faintly, “Not really. Why?”

Ya, I was all like, "Whhhhaaaaat..." when I found out he was in AC. He was my favourite character in the game, and when I fist played it I cried when he got blown up. XD Yes, I'm that pathetic. Also crapped myself when I saw screenshots featuring Reno and Rude. I'm a massive Turks fangirl, have been since I first heard their groovy theme song and Rend strolled himself into the chapel.

My cousin and I totally screamed 'NOOOOOOOOO!!!! RUFUS NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!' when he was blown-up, my mom came into my bedroom to see what the hell was going on and told us to shut up. lol ^^;

The Turks are the most badassed group of people that I've ever seen, ever. They'll be my favorite till the day I die.

Nah, I don't prescribe to the slut!Reno mentality, but I do think he's a cheeky little flirt when he wants to be. Let's face it, he knows he's hot....

I mean come on, if Tifa and Aerith didn't become whores while living in the Slums then why would Reno?

That's an excellent point. I never thought of it that way.

I guess it's just that too many writers see Reno as little more than a pretty face. I guess AC can be blamed for that. His original character design portrayed him as cute in a scruffy sort of way. In AC he was revealed to be drop-dead gorgeous.

Yeah I know...sort of annoying, really. What was up with Barret, though? I mean...mesh top?!

I still think they short-changed Cid in AC, and wtf...Where were the cigs?

Barret has always been a little 'gay' in the canon, always talking about Cloud's ass and all, mesh was really big in the early 90s. lol

I think Cid's the 1% that the Mako had a bad reaction to. Why else would he be the only 'old' looking character? Poor sod, he's one of my favorites too. ^^; "Sit down and drink your Goddamn tea!!!" He had my forever with those words.

And you know that only psychos and serial killers smoke in the year 2000 and after. *is being sarcastic*

Oh god yes, and I was so pissed that he sounded kinda red-neck or whatever. I'd always kinda imagined something closer to Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford. An australian accent would have been okay, too....

Yeah, they cleaned up FF7 quite a bit. I mean, the cursing was pretty hardcore and the suggestive themes.... Assassins and whorehouses and transvestitism! Oh my!

Shame, but whatever.

Ya, ya...I know. Smoking is so uncool now. But how's he supposed to do that one limit break with the dynamite? Light it with a match? *yaaawn*

They've gone waaayyyy overboard with the smoking thing IMO. I'm not a smoker but a lot of my friends and favorite characters smoke, and the last time I checked they weren't going around and randomly killing people.

Sephiroth killed hundreds, if not thousands, of people and I never seen him touch a cigarette. What does that tell you?

Wow, I just realized I really need sleep! I'm getting all worked-up about fictional characters smoking habits! lol XD!!

That would've been totally anticlimactic: Instead of Seph being all like: "I'm a biological weapon! Argh! Now everyone must die!" It would have been more like: "I'm a biological weapon! Fuck, I need a smoke!"

Well, I don't know how legit it is. I found it on a website that was dissecting the meaning of character names. And yet this is the first time I've ever seen Seph given a surname.... Hmmm....

That is odd timing. Zack didn't get a last name till CC, you would've thought that if they were going to give Seph one they would've done it then or in DoC.
