FIC: Leatherbound Memories (part 1)

The first entry of my conceptual piece that is Ianto's journal. While I'd like to be able include dates, TW is so bad about its timeline that the only thing I could put is the year and that's just lame. Anyway, my math is terrible. Like I said, my real focus is to make it sound like a journal and not like a first person take on various episodes.
spoilers: All of the first season with references to Fragments
rating: PG-13 for now
~I~
I finally encountered the captain in Bute Park. He was struggling to take down a weevil and I assisted in its capture, coming onto the scene as a passerby. Albeit a well-informed passerby. The rumours are true. I saw the spark of interest in his eyes during our introduction. It's not the first time I've been checked out by a man, but Captain Jack Harkness was so...casual about it. I got the distinct impression that he's very comfortable with his sexuality. For some reason it didn't bother me and in fact makes things much easier. I don't fancy men, but I also don't see how a bit of flirting can hurt. I must confess that the captain is incredibly handsome and it won't be difficult to fake an attraction. Were I inclined to men, he would certainly be my type. The man looks like an old-time film star and actually dresses rather old-fashionedly. It's quite appealing on him, especially that gorgeous RAF coat.
Well, now the hard part begins. Not only do I have to find Torchwood 3's base, but an apartment. I can't keep burning money on hotel rooms and I've no desire to stay with my sister. It I were to be honest, I never imagined that I'd be back in Wales. Not this soon anyway.
But I need this job. Not only for myself but for Lisa. It is my hope that this branch is as well-equilpped as the Institute.
