Under the cut are Torchwood spoiler notes for my two stories. Reading them over, I realize from an unfamiliar eye they can be a bit confusing. Too full of fandom assumptions. No peeking if you don't want to be...um, spoiled. XD

for Perception Filters

Okay, some of you might know by now that Torchwood is a Dr. Who spin-off. Jack being a former companion of the good Doctor and his current state of being (he can't die; he's a "fixed point in time and space") is the result of...well, some typical Who-esque time-space continueum voodoo. Sometimes I think I just don't watch Dr. Who because it makes my brain hurt just a little. Anyway, at the end of Season One he ditches the team when The Doctor shows up, cos ya know...He'd kinda like to know why a)He'd been abandoned on Earth and b)he can't die. At the beginning of TW Season 2, Jack's back and one of the first things he does is make it clear to Ianto that he wants to take their relationship more seriously. Hence the date reference.

for Five Ways...by part

I.
Before Ianto began participating in more field work, he was basically a secretary, tea boy, and the cute face behind the counter of the tourist office that provides the TW HQ with some half-assed cover.

II.
Alright, most of that bit is pretty self-explanatory...aside from why Ianto was still part of TW despite what he'd done. The very bad thing that he did for love. Honestly, I don't know why other than the fact that I'm sure Jack could sympathize with Ianto's plight and perhaps noticed his inner conflict between loyalties to Lisa and loyalties to himself and the rest of the team. Anyywaay, I actually worked my butt off trying to make it dissimilar from the scenes in "Ghost Machine" in which Jack teaches Gwen how to shoot a gun. Much as I liked the idea of Jack using it as an excuse to feel Ianto up, I just couldn't take that route out.

III.
Ah, I love "Fragments". One of my very favourite episodes. In it we're treated with flashbacks on how Ianto, Owen, and Tosh came to be part of Torchwood. On Ianto's end of things, he's a surviving member of Torchwood Institute (Torchwood 1), which was destroyed in Dr. Who. It's a bit complicated.... Anyway, so he tracks Jack down and proceeds to stalk and plead with Jack to let him join the Cardiff branch. Cue the cute banter and sexual tension.

IV.

V.
I'm among the few who don't believe Jack and Ianto were in each others pants from the get go. Mostly I'm too aware of Ianto's guilt in keeping Lisa in the basement and being all kinds of sexually confused to boot. Yeah. Tho' I never said I didn't think they fooled around. ;)

So true. I have only seen bits and pieces of the series(SobSob), but one of them I did see was 'Cyberwoman’ and I felt so bad for all of them.

And because of that I also don't think that they hooked up right away.

Damn, I really need to get this on DVD.
